5 Ways to Boost Webinar Engagement

Webinars are a great way to not only boost your brand awareness, but they are a great way to capture the attention of multiple decision makers at once, saving you valuable time. But as you only get one shot, it’s important to make it count.

As well as targeting the right people for the webinar and personally inviting them to attend, we’ve put together a shortlist of 5 things you can do to make your webinar a success and engage your attendees.

Q&A’s

There’s nothing worse than finding yourself reeling off the same script while your audience’s eyes glaze over. One way to make sure that your webinar is grabbing the attention of the attendees is to allow time for a Q&A. Not only are attendees more likely to pay attention and takes notes, it’s also a great way for participants to find out what they really want to know about your company, product or service. By allowing time for Q&A, you can personalise your approach and make sure nobody is left with unanswered questions. Not to mention it gives you time to take a breather!

Live chats

Not only can participants ask important questions via live chats, but they can also communicate with other attendees. The live chat can be a great place for likeminded individuals to network with not just you, but everyone else, giving your webinar a sense of community.
If your participants are happily exchanging in some discussion, you can relax knowing that your audience are engaged. You could even get your colleagues to start a discussion themselves to encourage dialogue on some of the key points!

Polls & Surveys

Polls are a great way to engage with and gather some valuable insight into the audience. As well as making the webinar more exciting, if participants know they could be quizzed on the webinar they are likely to be especially focused – and maybe even taking notes!
Not only that, but by using surveys you can gather some really valuable insights on both your webinar quality and the demographics of your audience. For example, asking about businesses key challenges, pain points, or even asking for webinar feedback can be extremely valuable. You have one chance so don’t forget to make the most out of it!

Video exerts

Nobody wants to stare at a white PowerPoint for an hour – so make your content engaging by including video exerts, live streaming, and demonstrations. By including dynamic content participants are more likely to remember you and your brand – so even if it means hiring a videographer for a day to create some engaging content, it’s well worth your time!

Call to action

Last but certainly not least, don’t forget to include a call to action. Having a webinar is all well and good but if you don’t encourage participants to act then the intended results are guaranteed to fall short.
Think of what you want to get out of the webinar – is it a conversation with potential customers, do you want them to sign up to your mailing list, or do you want them to look at your online resources? Whichever it is, make sure you make that clear with a strong call to action. Don’t fall at the last hurdle!

If you follow these 5 tips, your webinar will be a sure-fire success. And don’t forget, just because the webinar is over, it doesn’t mean it can be forgotten. Key to progressing webinar attendees is the follow up. We would always recommend reaching out to webinar attendees after the event, gathering feedback and answering any additional questions that may have come up.
