CREATIVE ARTS THERAPY ALLIANCE GOES NATIONAL WITH BLUEBERRY’S HELP

OUR client works alongside organisations within the health, education and social care sectors, supporting youngsters and adults through creative arts therapies. Developed by an accomplished group of art, drama and music therapists in 2013, the business aimed to change the way creative arts therapies were delivered. Discover how we helped our client significantly increase its customer base and generate £56 in business for every £1 they spent on our services.

WHAT THEY NEEDED

Initially, Blueberry worked alongside our client primarily within the education sector. However, with increasing instability and budget cuts within the field, they were keen to branch out into other sectors. Local-authority-led adoption services were identified as an area of interest for our client to explore. But with merely 150 unitary and upper-tier local authorities in the UK at the time, this limited their scope. Our experienced team were hired to develop a multi-channel marketing campaign to generate and nurture qualified leads within local authorities.

WHAT WE DID

As well as promoting our client’s therapy packages, we aimed to educate local authorities about the benefits of music therapy for families going through the adoption process.

“BLUEBERRY WAS TASKED WITH REACHING HIGHLY SPECIFIC PERSONEL WORKING WITHIN COUNCIL’S ADOPTION TEAMS. THESE CONTACTS WERE NOT READILY AVAILABLE FROM DATA HOUSES.”

As with all our clients, Blueberry calculates the most proficient and cost-effective way to source the data they need. In many cases, this will include buying precise data.

Blueberry was tasked with reaching highly specific personnel working within council’s adoption teams. These contacts were nor readily available from data house. Experts in interpersonal communication, our team managed to find key decision-makers by engaging directly with local authorities.

EXPERTS IN INTERPERSONAL COMMUNICATION, OUR TEAM MANAGED TO LOCATE KEY DECISION-MAKERS BY ENGAGING DIRECTLY WITH LOCAL AUTHORITIES.

Our purpose-built directory also outlined different organisational structures and work practices, which varied between different local authorities and regional consortiums.

Blueberry’s friendly, yet professional, multi-channel communications ensured that we succeeded in generating and fostering a pipeline of warm leads. As suspected, we discovered that some local authorities were more likely to explore creative arts therapies than others. Our team ensured that they capitalised on all their inquiries, by:

  • Arranging case-by-case consultations with our client’s therapists.
  • Organising group meetings for social work teams to learn about the many benefits of music therapy.
  • Setting up face-to-face and telephone appointments between our clients and team managers.
  • Finding existing opportunities for our client to pitch for and ‘Meet the Supplier’ events.
  • Arranging meetings with consortiums or key decision-makers within a consortium.
  • Getting permission to distribute ‘opt-in’ newsletters to a list of relevant subscribers.

“OVER THE LAST TWO YEARS WE HAVE BEEN CONSISTENTLY DELIGHTED WITH OUR RELATIONSHIP WITH BLUEBERRY AND THE TEAM.”

Client

Using a combination of whitepapers, research texts and case studies, we encouraged leads to embrace musical therapies through our client.

WHAT WE ACHIEVED

Despite having limited scope and data, our campaign results were outstanding. Our multi-faceted approach and long-term lead nurturing techniques generated leads with more than 45 per cent of the targeted local authorities. More than a third of these secured deals with our client within a month of our campaign ending. Furthermore, in 2016 our client achieved £56 in business from every £1 they spent with us.

“IN 2016 ALONE, OUR CLIENT SECURED £56 IN BUSINESS FROM EVERY £1 THEY SPENT WITH US. WITH A 100+ THERAPISTS, OUR CLIENT NOW PROVIDES CREATIVE ARTS THERAPIES ACROSS THE UK.”

Building on the success of this campaign, Blueberry has worked on many other projects with the client. These include promoting its revolutionary therapies to solicitors and case managers supporting brain and spinal injury survivors. We continue to provide our client with a full bespoke database to meet their on-going projects and support their business development. With a team of more than 100 therapists, our client now provides creative arts therapies across the UK.
