We’re very proud to announce we’ve partnered with Zest Leeds – a charity right on our doorstep that works with disadvantaged communities in Leeds to promote happy and healthy lifestyles.

One in five people in Leeds lives in a deprived area. People born in deprived areas are more likely to suffer from inequality, receive a poorer education and inadequate health care. This often has a lasting impact on their life expectancy. Zest is passionate about addressing inequalities which stem from where a person was born or raised

Some of the people that interact or benefit from  Zest  are socially isolated and have limited or no support network in place.  Studies show  that social isolation can lead to loneliness, which is detrimental to an individual’s mental health.

Zest recently came to our offices to discuss how they support the local community through various health and well-being projects. As a Leeds-based business, we thought it was important to commit to a local charity. One which tackles an issue that is perhaps sometimes overlooked or underfunded.

One of our first fund-raising activities with and for Zest will see us take on the Leeds 10k. Some of us will also be getting out of the office to brush up on our culinary skills (much needed) at Leeds Cookery School.
